If I was told that saving you all would require a sacrifice, and there was truly no way around it, then a sacrifice I would take, even if it was my own life.

... But that does not mean I would not mourn that life, or that it never had value -- simply that I am prepared to take that burden onto myself, so that no one else might suffer the same consequences.

Sort of... I have a friend back home - she's royalty, so she was raised out of sight of everyone, and she always has duty on the mind. I wouldn't say she's much like Emet-Selch, but she's got a hard time making friends, too.
